Combine or Separate? Understanding Your Options for Multiple Farms
1. One Account, One Subscription
Each farm account (unique web address, such as https://myfarm.pasture.io) is covered by one Fundamental subscription at $1099 per year.
2. Multiple Farms Under One Account
If you decide to add more than one physical farm under a single account, you’ll still pay only one subscription fee. However, all data—paddocks, grazing records, pasture covers, and so on—ends up in one combined dataset. A few farmers enjoy seeing everything in one place, but most find that mixing data creates extra steps for reporting on individual farms and complicates paddock management.
3. Separate Accounts for Each Farm
If you’d like each farm to have its own distinct dataset (paddocks, feed wedges, reports, farm averages, etc.), you can create separate accounts. Each additional account requires its own Fundamental subscription. This keeps each farm’s records totally separate and easier to manage. A single user can access each farm by switching between them in the app menu, and assign different access privileges as needed.
4. Merging or Separating Farms
If you later decide you want to combine or split farms into different accounts, be aware there is no automated merge or separate function. You would need to create a new farm account and re-enter data, which could lead to loss of historical records for the moved farm.
5. Satellite Add-Ons
Whether you have one farm or several farms in a single account, you can add Essential or Ultimate satellite-backed pasture readings. These add-ons are charged per hectare for any paddocks included in that account.
