How do I export a paddock map image for printing or sharing?

Quick steps to download a PNG or JPG map showing paddock boundaries and labels on a blank or satellite background.

Overview

Need a clean paddock map for a report or print-out? In a few clicks you can export an image that shows your farm’s paddock boundaries and IDs on either a blank canvas or a satellite backdrop. Follow the steps below.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Map dropdown ▼

    1. Click the Map Dropdown next to the Map button to reveal the mapping controls.
  2. Set the background
    1. Background ➜ Blank for a plain white (print-friendly) map, or
    2. Background ➜ Colour / Grayscale for satellite base imagery.
  3. Show paddock boundaries
    1. Overlay ➜ Boundaries.
    2. Tick any alternative overlay you want (e.g., cover, fertiliser, etc).
  4. Add paddock labels
    1. Labels ➜ Code or Name (choose the ID that suits).
    2. Toggle Colour ➜ White / Black for best contrast against the background.
  5. Export the image
    1. Data ➜ Image, then choose:
      1. PNGbest quality and scalable for print.
      2. JPG – smaller file size for quick sharing.
    2. The file downloads to your device, ready to print or share.

Alternative: quick screenshot

If you only need a rough copy, simply set the map to the view you want and take a screenshot on your device. This is faster but may be lower resolution than the PNG export.

Tips

  • Position the map first – centre and zoom before Data ➜ Image so the export is framed correctly.

  • Check label colour – ensure the text stands out on your chosen background.

  • Maps stay current – any changes to paddock shapes or names are reflected immediately.

  • Use PNG for scale – retains clarity when resized.
