How to Enter a Grazing

Why Enter Grazing Records? Grazing records help the app understand how your pasture is being used. This data allows Pasture.io to monitor pasture growth, optimise grazings, tailor nutrition and predict future yields.

From the farm dashboard

  1. Go to the Grazings tab on the left-hand side – this will open up the available grazing slots
  2. You will see the date will default to the current date (you can go forward in dates to plan ahead or go back in dates if you have missed a couple of grazings)
  3. Click on the desired feed slot and a New Grazing window will open up
  4. In the Pasture KgDM/day/animal box, enter the daily allocation for dry matter. This will always default to the last entered amount
  5. On the map, left click the paddock that the herd is grazing

It may help to have your codes on your paddocks. To do this, go to the drop down box next to  Map, select Labels, select Codes

  6. A new window will pop up – click on Select Paddock
  7. Save all

That feed slot now in showing in dark green under the Grazings heading, and bright green on the Map (when overlay is set to Activities)
