Locking Paddocks up for Silage
When you have paddocks designated for silage, the grass is allowed to grow much longer than typical grazing levels. If these paddocks are included in your farm's average cover calculations, they will artificially inflate the average, making it look like you have more grass available for your animals to eat than you actually do. To get a "true" reading of the grass available for the current grazing rotation, you can exclude specific paddocks.
