Topography
In a grazing system, topography data transforms a flat map into a strategic guide for where animals should be at any given time. Steeper slopes typically grow less "Green Dry Matter" (GDMA) compared to low-lying areas with better soil moisture. High-performing systems aim to graze between the 2-leaf and 3-leaf stages. Topography helps predict which areas will reach this stage first (e.g., warmer north-facing slopes) so you can adjust your rotation
To set up Individual Paddock Topography
- From your home screen
- Click on the Paddock
- Click Edit Details
- Select the relevant Topography type
- Select Save All

To set up Multiple Paddock Topography
- From your home screen
- Click on the Paddocks (to select more than one paddock, hold Shift and left click)
- Click on the orange Action Bar below your map
- Select Bulk Edit

- Select the relevant Topography type in the pop-up window
- Select Save All
