Troubleshooting Herds, Grazings, or other data gone missing

Missing herds or grazings? Clear your browser cache or use an incognito window to restore your data.

When you sign in and your herds, grazings, or other data seem to have vanished, disappeared, or gone missing, it’s almost always a browser‑cache hiccup rather, not a problem with your account.

Your information is still safe on our servers—your browser is just showing an outdated copy of the app.

Quick 30-Second Work‑around

  1. Open an Incognito / Private window (on your laptop/desktop)

    • Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) | ⌘ + Shift + N (Mac)

    • Edge / Brave: same keys as Chrome

    • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P (Windows) | ⌘ + Shift + P (Mac)

    • Safari: File → New Private Window

  2. Go to https://pasture.io and sign in as usual, ensuring you are in Version 2.

If your data shows up here, you’re good — follow the steps below once to clear the cache in your regular window.

Permanent Fix – Clear Your Browser Cache

Chrome on Desktop

  1. Click the three‑dot menu (top‑right) → SettingsPrivacy & securityClear browsing data.

  2. Tick Cached images and files (leave everything else unticked) → Clear data.

  3. Close all tabs, reopen Chrome, and sign back in to Pasture.io.

Chrome on Android / iOS

  1. Tap the (Android) or (iOS) menu → HistoryClear browsing data.

  2. Select Cached images and filesClear data.

Using a different browser? The process is similar — search the browser’s settings for “Clear cache.”

Why Does This Happen?

Occasionally we release an update where the new files keep the same names as the old ones. Most browsers then think, “I already have that file,” and continue to show the outdated version. Clearing the cache (or using incognito) forces your browser to download the latest files. We’re putting measures in place so this becomes even less likely in future.
