Understanding the Long Rotation Model
Whilst we highly recommend entering your grazings into Pasture.io to support informed decision-making, there may be occasions when some of your stock are off-farm , or when paddocks go an extended period between grazings during the slow growth seasons
If you are not entering grazings consistently, the long rotation model assumes the continued, uninterrupted growth of pasture resulting in potentially high readings.
In situations like this, switching the Long Rotation Model OFF can sometimes provide a more accurate reflection of what’s happening on-farm, particularly if wedge covers are trending upward.
You can find the setting in the app under
Settings
→ Model Settings, where you can switch the Long Rotation Model ON or OFF and tap Save All.

Changes take effect after the next satellite image is processed.
If you are continuing to enter grazings to make informed decisions, keep the Long Rotation Model switched ON
