[Grazing](https://help.pasture.io/livestock?hsLang=en#grazing) # Understanding the Pasture Demand Indicator?  ## The Pasture Demand Indicator is a tool that calculates how much pasture your herd needs based on several factors including paddock cover, herd size, and the demand of your herd in kilograms of dry matter per day per animal (kgDM/Day/Animal). It helps you see how long your paddock covers will last for your herd and checks if your grazing plan meets the target requirements.
